Club Meetings

When:  3rd Thursday of each month at 7:30 pm

Where:  The American Red Cross Building

Club meetings follow a standard format and last about an hour and a half. Often a presentation is given by a club member or a guest speaker on a current or relevant topic to amateur radio.

Refreshments are offered during a short break. As a courtesy to our members and speakers, we ask that you arrive a few minutes prior to the start of the meeting.

  • General Club Meeting - You don't need to be a member to attend our General Club Meetings. The public is welcome to join us!

    • September Presentation: The guest speaker this month is Larry Camp WB8R the ARRL's Michigan Section Manager.  Larry has been an amateur since 1978 and has a long history of service to amateur radio in Michigan.

  • 2015 VE Sessions
    • VE sessions are held on the 3rd Saturday of every even month.  The sessions start at 9 AM sharp.  Please show up 15 minutes for completion of paper work.  Walk-ins are welcome.

  • ARPSC 2-Meter Net
    • The net meets every Monday at 9:00pm local time on the '72 Monroe repeater - 146.72, 100Hz PL Tone.

      Membership in the Amateur Radio Public Service Corp (ARPSC) is encouraged but not required for participation in this net.  All amateurs with an interest in public service and emergency communications are welcome.

      The Monroe County ARPSC meets the first Thursday of each month at at 7:00 pm in the Monroe County Red Cross Building located at 1645 N Dixie Hwy Monroe.  All are welcome.

      We would like to say farewell and good luck to Mike Hall K8MLH who is stepping down from the position of Monroe County ARRL Emergency Coordinator and who has also served as the ARPSC net manager and net control.  Mike has held these positions for several years and made a significant contribution to emergency preparedness and public service in Monroe County.  Mike has retired and will be spending time traveling the US and visiting family with his wife.  Thanks again Mike and well done.

      Now we would like to welcome Dave Buchko, AC8SI who is assuming the duties of Monroe County ARRL Emergency Coordinator.  The EC position is an important posting and we extend our thanks to Dave for accepting the position knowing that he will do a fine job as the new EC.
